The Water Gate was located on the East side of the Jerusalem Wall across from the Valley Gate. It was north of the Fountain Gate. The Water Gate points to learning and living by the instructions of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes the word of God alive to us personally, allowing cleansing, encouragement and direction to take place in our life.
Nehemiah 3:26 “and the temple servants living on the hill of Ophel made repairs up to a point opposite the Water Gate toward the east and the projecting tower.”
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
Ephesians 5:26-27 speaks about the church compared to a wife, “to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”
