The Fountain Gate was located east of the Dung Gate at the Southeast corner of the Jerusalem Wall. When the dung is gone, removed through the dung-gate, the resources found in God’s fountain can become operative and effective. Depending on the Lord for all things. This speaks to us of the living waters of the Holy Spirit that cleanse our lives and empower us for our Christian life.
Nehemiah 3:15-16 “The Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallun son of Kol-Hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah. He rebuilt it, roofing it over and putting its doors and bolts and bars in place. He also repaired the wall of the Pool of Siloam, by the King’s Garden, as far as the steps going down from the City of David. Beyond him, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of a half-district of Beth Zur, made repairs up to a point opposite the tombs of David, as far as the artificial pool and the House of the Heroes.”
John 4:13-14 “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.””
As believers, we need to be refreshed in the living water found only in Jesus Christ!
